NHS Croydon provides a minor injuries service at Parkway Health Centre, New Addington for emergencies between 2:00pm and 10:00pm seven days a week. The unit is staffed by experienced emergency nurse practitioners who have spent several years in Accident and Emergency and have undertaken specific training.
The nurse practitioners will treat adults and children with the following conditions: minor cuts and grazes, minor burns and scalds, stings, sprains and strains. They can also clean and dress wounds, insert and remove sutures, remove foreign bodies from eyes and dispense specified medication including tetanus. At the Parkway you will not have to queue behind seriously ill or injured patients, so you may be treated more quickly than if you were to attend Accident and Emergency.
