CLINICS
Influenza/Pneumonia Vaccination
Our practice nurses run flu clinics
starting in September each year. We recommend injections for all those (including children) over 65
or those with chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart and lung conditions.
If appropriate a pneumonia vaccination will be offered at the same time.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases - HIV/AIDS
Croydon University Hospital's department of GU
Medicine and Sexual Health offers a free, confidential service for the diagnosis
and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and AIDS. The
clinics are run on a walk-in basis, no appointment is necessary. For clinic details

Treatment Room Clinics
Experienced practice nurses are available
in the treatment room for a wide range of services, including advice, dressings,
removal of sutures, ear syringing, vaccinations and new patient medicals. We also
offer a blood-taking service on most mornings each week.
Family Planning And Cervical Smears
A full range of services is available
including the fitting of coils, the morning after pill and oral contraception.
Pre-conceptual advice and rubella (German measles) screening are also available.
All women between the ages of 24 and 65 will be offered a cervical smear test
in line with the current NHS recommendations.
Maternity/Antenatal
Clinics
The doctors provide maternity medical
services and work closely with the community midwives. Patients will be offered appointments with a GP or midwife according to local medical guidelines.
Child Health And
Immunisations
Child health clinics are run by the
health visitors at various locations in the area (reception has a list). Developmental checks are undertaken by the GPs and all childhood immunisations given during designated immunisation clinics by the practice nurses. Childhood vaccinations and developmental checks are by appointment only, and patients will usually be invited at the appropriate time. If in doubt, please telephone the surgery for advice.
Minor Surgery
Where appropriate the practice will undertake minor surgery operations. Patients will be referred to one of our minor surgery specialists and, if necessary, will be placed on an internal waiting list. We also offer a regular wart treatment clinic on Friday afternoons, conducted by Dr Jackson.
Disease Management
Our specialist practice nurses offer clinics for the management of asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Patients are invited to attend for routine monitoring of their condition and each clinic is supported by a nominated GP.
Disease Prevention
Advice on smoking, alcohol, obesity,
heart disease prevention and osteoporosis is available from the practice nurses
- please make an appointment at reception. It is important that you understand
all the information that is given to you. Please ask questions if you are unsure
of anything. We can provide a range of health education leaflets, and we also
have a number of health education videos which are available to borrow.
NON-NHS
SERVICES
The doctors are prepared to carry out recognised medical services not covered by the NHS, such as the completion of medical reports and examinations for external organisation such as insurance companies, solicitors, employers etc. These services will incur charges as they are not part of the practice’s commitment to their NHS contract, and will be charged at the current recommended fee as advised by the British Medical Association. A current list of fees is displayed at our reception. |
